Toss whole washed ORGANIC grapes (part  of the dirty dozen) into the blender and throw in a few mint leaves. Blend and sieve before chilling. Voila! […]

I think Olive’s first foods were avocado and pureed pumpkin. They told me start with vegetables, not fruit because if you do they won’t eat the veggies since fruit is sweeter (um hello breast milk is sweet!)

This time around they’re saying start with meat and eggs for the iron. What?!! Just goes to show the “experts” don’t really know much more than the rest of us!

Thanks for stopping by Marina! We’ve tried apple sauce too.. big hit but Pear sauce is even bigger! Our challenge is constipation and apples sauce is apparently a culprit so just keep an eye out for that. Each baby is different so you never know! Good luck with the foodie adventures!

Pediatricians in the US advise apple sauce as a first solid. Here is an easy way to make it at home (as the one you find in stores is high in sugars and preservatives…). Wash (organic) apples and wrap each apple in wet wax paper. Place wrapped apples on a baking sheet and bake at 350F for about 20 minutes (or until soft). Cool them, remove the paper and peel the skin off. With a fork mash the apples (removing the center) and if they are soft enough there is no need to pure them. You can add some cinnamon powder. Andrey loves it!
