Even plane travel is better than car travel for me (and my son) – it’s all about having a parent free to entertain and to be able to move around a bit more. Trains are my favourite, though. Hope to do some more train trips in 2015.

If I lived in Europe I’d be hoping on a train every weekend I think! We did London to Paris on Rail Europe when baby #1 was 2 months..loved it, of course!

Thank you for the tip!

My first trip to the U.S when I was a kid we Amtraked it across the U.S…was so fun! Though I don’t think they have flexible passes like Europe does.

It’s just that they both want to explore at the moment and especially if I’m traveling on my own, it’s hard to keep up with them! But I love trains with carriages for kids, in Finland for example in some of the trains they have an area with a slide, books, drawing stuff etc, which is brilliant for the little ones. I’d love to go across Siberia on the train, but maybe we’ll wait a little longer that the kids would get something out of it too!

We are flying to Amsterdam in March for a few days and then taking the train to London – can’t wait!!
