Early spring clean! Help by voting!

Whenever I travel I always want to take all of  my favourite clothing items with me, now with a little one in tow, that’s an additional person to share my precious luggage space with. I’m not too pleased about that one! However having recently travelled for a month, I realized that I was able to survive just fine with half the items I usually travel with. No don’t worry I wasn’t wearing the same stuff everyday. Plus… one always has to shop when visiting other cities  right?  Helping their economy and all?

Now that we’re back in Toronto, I  took a good long look at my closet and realized that I SOOO needed a bigger wardrobe, but living in a small condo in downtown Toronto does not afford me that luxury. Next thing was to start purging. New year…a bit of an early spring clean. That sounded about right. Let me tell you… I FINALLY parted with a couple outfits I  was holding on from 1988 (hey I still fit into them!), tons of jeans and t-shirts (remember those super short crop tees…yeaaa….), various work blouses and some pretty neat lounge wear. The Little Monkey had some pieces to contribute as well. It actually feels quite good to purge once in a while. I try to do this yearly but it has never been in such a large scale. This year…we have two suitcases filled with items that are still in good condition. Actually Given has collected a couple more suitcases filled with clothing. I do have some items that have seen better days and heard about places using these to make furniture with…anyone know of such a place in Toronto?

Ofcourse having them sit in my (tiny) kitchen for a couple weeks is the next  step…okay no no I’m going to try and minimize that this year by partnering with a  lovely organization called Actually Given. I will put out a disclaimer that this non-profit organization is actually managed by my brother and his girlfriend. Hey that means we actually KNOW what’s going to happen to these clothes right? Well we took it a step further and decided to rally our friends, readers and supporters in helping us decide which charity we should donate to.
