We had walked around the Regent Park Aquatic Centre a couple times and had heard about how awesome it was inside and yesterday we finally stepped inside thanks to a kids’ birthday party. This public swimming pool is free to use and you can rent it out for private parties as well and so our friends had done just that. We had two hours of swim time all to our selves and then enjoyed a pizza lunch in the private party room.
The pictures below will show you how awesome the spot is but here’s why I think it’s worth a visit…
- Space is free and open to the public
- Superb design elements from internal to external architecture
- Co-ed change rooms and facilities making it easy for families
- Ladies only swim sessions during select hours
- Plenty of different swimming areas including shallow kids end, water slide, Tarzan rope and massaging jets for adults
- Free toys and floaters for kids to use
- Seats around the pool for those not swimming
- Variety of drop in classes including pre-school, teen and aquafit
- Friendly staff (plenty of them too!)
If you’re in the downtown Toronto area, don’t let the slightly shady neighbourhood scare you from visiting this design and aquatic masterpiece. Take the family and enjoy the warm waters, pristine facilities and generous swim areas and programs!
