The Best Happy Hours in Toronto (That Are Actually a Deal in 2026)

As the kids get older, sneaking out for a quick cocktail or late-afternoon snack in Toronto gets easier. But with food and drink prices climbing, happy hour is where some of the city’s best deals still live… if you know where to look. This is my running list of the best happy hours in Toronto.  I like places that aren’t just cheap, but actually deliver great tasting dishes and cocktails. Think $5 tacos that don’t taste sad, cocktails that cost less than parking in downtown Toronto and rooftop patios with CN Tower views. I’ll update this guide regularly as we keep discovering new spots, so bookmark it if you love a good deal as much as I do. I’ll also highlight the Toronto happy hour restaurants I’ve brought the kids to if you’re thinking of Toronto restaurants that welcome kids and offer deals!

The Best Happy Hours in Toronto (That Are Actually a Deal in 2026)

Downtown Toronto's best happy hours

I live in downtown Toronto and so all of these are solid options if you’re looking for the best downtown Toronto happy hour deals. I’ve got a solid list of bars and restaurants that would be suitable for various occasions (from happy hour near Union station before a game to fancy happy hours in Toronto for celebrations). This isn’t a random roundup of every bar in the city. These are places we’ve actually been to and spots that are worth leaving the house for when you want a drink, a snack and a bit of Toronto magic without blowing your budget. That said, I’m not going to tell you about the bougie happy hour menus that cost as much as a tasting menu in Toronto (I’m looking at you Nobu!!) because this article is all about scoring a delicious deal. You can read my Toronto date night restaurant list if you want something upscale.

Abrielle for Cool Lounge Vibes (Skip Dessert)

📍King West              Daily 3-6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close. Note that happy hour food is only available 3 to 5 p.m.

Happy hour oyster

If you want your happy hour to feel a little more polished, Abrielle delivers. The lounge is gorgeous, the apps and mains were actually great and the cocktails feel like something you’d normally pay full price for. They have $12 espresso martinis, need I say more? The only miss? Dessert. I’d stick to savoury bites and drinks and call it a win. We actually took the kids here and they enjoyed the burgers, fries and oysters.

Añejo for Cheap and Cheerful. Always a Toronto Happy Hour Win

📍King West and Lawrence Market area              Daily 3-5 p.m. and 10 p.m. to close.

Best Toronto happy hour tacos

Añejo is one of Toronto’s most reliable happy hours and that’s exactly why it stays on this list. It’s not trying to be trendy or exclusive, but the prices are genuinely good with $7 margaritas +beers and $4 tacos and the menu works whether you’re popping in for a quick drink or staying for a full plate of tacos and swaying late into the night. Their happy hour runs both day and night, which makes it perfect for everything from a late-afternoon meet-up to a spontaneous date night. Get that Coconut Marg! We’ve brought the kids here for the day time happy hour.

Aera at The Well for Happy Hour Drinks With a View

📍The Well  (Front and Spadina)             Daily 4-6 p.m.

Happy Hour in Toronto with views

Aera is one of those places people Google when they’re searching for “Toronto rooftop happy hour”, and yes I agree, the views from their 38th floor lounge and patio are worth it. The skyline at The Well makes even a simple cocktail feel like a splurge… without the downtown-parking-lot price tag. They offer $15 signature cocktails that are made really well$9 Sapporo on draught and $12 select wines.  I recommend this Toronto happy hour spot for drinks because while I haven’t truly given the food a chance, the nibbles we ordered were pretty basic and I’ve hear friends say the same about the dinner menu. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll stay past a round of drinks and I’ll report back then!

Lulu Bar for a Proper Happy Hour Deal

📍The Well  (Front and Spadina)             Daily 3-6 p.m.

Happy Hour downtown Toronto

If you’re in The Well area and want happy hour food that’s genuinely delicious and affordable, Lulu Bar is where you go. This cute Hawaiian-inspired spot has some of the best budget-friendly happy hour eats and drinks in the neighbourhood. The flavours are bold, the cocktails are fun (and  tasty) and it doesn’t feel like you’re sacrificing quality to save money.  Go here for the $10 cocktails and nibbles priced between $4 to $15 that are actually fun and delicious.

The Keg for Caesars and Sliders

📍King West             Daily Open-6 p.m.  and 9 p.m. to close

The Keg Happy Hour Toronto King West

Even without steak on the happy hour menu, The Keg still offers some of the better chain-restaurant deals in the city. Each location has different happy hour timings but I am a fan of the King West location because their King street facing patio is fun in the summer time and they have Happy Hour on nearly all day! I usually opt for the $7 cocktails and the $7 sliders but they have plenty of other options ranging from $6 draft beer to $8 glasses of wine. What I also like here is that they have a $5 mocktail on their happy hour menu! Brought the kids here with us many times (they also have a stellar kids’ menu featuring a steak option).

Here’s my list of best places to eat near the CN Tower, Union Station and Rogers Centre. Perfect for a bite before a game!

W Burger for a Truly Wallet Friendly Afternoon

📍Yonge and College            Daily 3-6 p.m.

Cheapest happy hours Toronto

W Burger understands what happy hour should be: cheap drinks, pub food, no judgement. I’ve been going to this watering hole since my University days and this place definitely has stood strong amidst the crazy times. They have daily specials and even offer $2.25 PBR but their happy hour is what I get hyped about. They serve food and drink priced at $6.50 and this includes everything from bar rail DOUBLES, wine, sliders, spring rolls, Quesadillas and more. It’s actually a solid spot to feed a hungry teenager when you’re on a budget because this honestly must be the cheapest happy hour in Toronto offering a variety of dishes!

St. John’s Tavern for Rooftop Hangs with CN Tower Views and Buck a Shuck

📍King West             Mon to Fri 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.  and Wed to Sat  4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Toronto happy hour wine

Happy hour with a rooftop and CN Tower view usually comes with big prices but not here. St. John’s Tavern has solid drink specials, a fun crowd and one of the best golden-hour backdrops in the city. I like this spot in the summer time because it feels like you’re in a treehouse if you sit on the upstairs patio. While they have drink specials Monday to Friday with $6 beers and $8 glasses of wine, it’s the Wednesday to Saturday happy hour that I prefer because it’s buck a shuck and half priced bottles of wine. That’s the real winning combo here, especially for a night out with friends.

Vinny for a Chic Vibe

📍King West             Sunday to Thursday 5 – 7 p.m.

For a bit of a retro vibe with Vinyl shaped menus, swanky bathrooms and a photobooth… you’ll want to head to Vinny‘s on King West. Their cocktails were only $10 and the dirty gin martini was fab. I plan to try the espresso martini next. I love that they have a Sunday evening happy hour. I did bring our kids here and  they loved the hotdogs and burgers… the hod dogs had gold leaves on it so that won  my attention. Oysters were $2 a piece and I’d say this happy hour is best suited for meat eaters because you won’t get filled on shishito peppers, fries and oysters.

The Phae Tavern for Fun Cocktails and Claw Machines

📍King West             Daily 4 – 6 p.m.  , ALL DAY Tuesday,  weekdays 10 p.m.-close and midnight to close on Friday and Saturday.

This one is just plain fun. The cocktail deals are shockingly good and sometimes you even get tokens to play the claw machine at this Thai tavern that transports you to the streets of Chiang Mai! Which makes it a lively spot for a friend group hang in Toronto and you can also easily bring kids to this Toronto happy hour! Chef Nuit can do no wrong so the food slaps as the young’uns say! They have cocktail  features for $12, shots for $5 and they have some amazing non alcoholic slushie options for $5. So yes, if you want a mocktail happy hour in Toronto, this should be on your list. Get the Tom Yum fries on feature during happy hour or you’ll regret it!

Check out my favourite Toronto restaurants based on cuisine.

416 Social for $5 Tacos That Actually Hit

📍College and Ossington area             Tuesday to Thursday 2 – 7 p.m.

Toronto happy hour taco

The $5 tacos at 416 Social Restaurant are genuinely delicious and they serve $8 margaritas. What more do you need from a happy hour that takes place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.? Skip the aguachile, stick to tacos and drinks and you’ll leave very happy. Oh, they also have $5 shots and the staff are really fun. Be sure to check out the bathrooms here-trust me!

Edna + Vita for an Italian Happy Hour That Feels Fancy

📍Adelaide Street |  Financial District           Daily 2-5 p.m.  and 9 p.m. to close

Happy hour pizza king street

I really like the elevated Italian pub vibe at Edna + Vita. And who can say no to delicious $15 stone fired pizza? Chris and I enjoyed a date night here but I’d totally bring the kids with no qualms. They offer $5 beers and glasses of wine in addition to $10 cocktails. Some of their fancy cocktails like the Tiramisu Espresso costs $12 during this Toronto happy hour in the financial district. Oh and you can upgrade the pizza to be a gluten free version and don’t forget to ask for their chilli oil if you like things spicy.

Oretta for Aperitivo without the Price Tag

📍King West +  Front Street | Entertainment District           Daily 3-7 p.m.  and 9 p.m. to close

instagram worthy happy hour toronto

Oretta was basically built for happy hour and for snapping Instagram worthy selfies in Toronto. With its Italian aperitivo culture, this is one of the best places in Toronto to sip a spritz, nibble on small plates and not feel rushed into a full meal. That said, I find their happy hour menu to have the widest selection of elevated dishes that it’s easy to have a full meal here on a budget! The snacks start at $5 and they offer full meals for $15. The Calamari and Pizettes at $12 are a solid deal! The Front Street location also offers a late night happy our from 9 p.m. to close!

I’ll keep updating this guide as we discover more, so if you have a favourite Toronto happy hour that deserves a spot here, let me know because I’m always up for imbibing in the name “research”!
