A Night of Pomp & Pageantry

It’s rare that I step out on a Saturday night without the hubs, but when I was invited to SAVVY!‘s A Night of Pomp & Pageantry with the promise of a girly evening to meet, socialize and network with some of Toronto’s chic professional women, I could hardly say no! Linking up with a girlfriend I hadn’t seen in ages, we made our way to Yorkville’s latest fashion boutique, Pomp & Pageantry (appropriately named huh?).

The space was quite small (it’s a boutique after all !) and girlfriends and sisters were out in full throng! It may have been a slushy cold day in Toronto but the short dresses and heels were adorned by the fashionable attendees. Sipping on martinis (being a bit of a drink snob, I unfortunately was not able to keep them down) and wine, we made new friends, chatted about fashion and perused the collections of TFNC London, House of Harlowe, Tracy Reese and Tara Jarmon (just to name a few). I spotted quite a few gorgeous dresses but kept my cards in my pocket because I still need to lose some a lot of weight before I can go on a shopping spree.

In addition to the open bar (perfect for a girl’s night out!) we pampered ourselves by getting hand massages from AMK studios and some opted to get a few make up lessons from the Bourjois make up artists. I personally find that most make artists don’t have the right foundation for my skin tone so I tend to stay away from these stations but I couldn’t help but notice that there were some fabulous eyes walking away from that side of the corridor!

The paparazzi was definitely out in full force and I even got nabbed by one as she grabbed a dress right out of my hands! I thought it was quite odd but couldn’t help laughing at the movie-esque scene! Not to worry, everyone else was nice, witty and made great conversations! SAVVY! founder Dolly, a bubbly personality, ensured that guests were well taken care of and made it a point to connect with everyone. She had her own band of merry women who also checked in with us throughout the evening and made some new introductions. Thank you LXRY Magazine for this lovely picture of us!

Networking in full throttle,  my feet and sweaty pits (yes it was that packed!) had me home earlier than anticipated, which was just perfect ’cause that meant snuggles on the couch before conking out! I look forward to future SAVVY! events as Dolly has some fun ideas for us ladies to enjoy a night out at!
