Downtown Toronto bars with babies

We enjoy good craft beers and cocktails and that’s no lie. The arrival of a baby can dampen the exploration for one too many alcoholic beverages but it doesn’t have to! We’ve found plenty of neat little spots to enjoy a few good drinks at that don’t turn their noses at us when we bring in a baby! For today’s Tasty Tuesday post we’re focusing on good drinking spots with a baby. Mind you I’m not talking clubs or lounges, but spots that have good craft beers or fine cocktails! This is definitely an ever growing list and I’ll try my best to keep updating them!

IMG_20130608_153908IMG_20130608_150653Bellwoods Brewery: Fantastic brews on tap and their tapas menu looks great too! I’d recommend this as a summer spot as it can get cramped during the winter when the patio isn’t in action. Loved that they had a high chair and even agreed to park our industrial stroller (next time I’ll be taking the umbrella one to make  things easier for all involved!). We love that they have an ever revolving list of draft brews that’s sure to please many. Best of all.. the retail store next store to take home some of our faves!

IMG_1309 IMG_1310Yakitori Bar : I wrote about these guys as one of our favourite dining spots but we also love going here for a drink. My favourites are the Sake and Soju infused cocktails. The Samurye is by far my favest and the fact that it has rye makes it even better! On my most recent visit I tried a virgin (hello pregnancy!) Gangnam Style and let me tell you, I can’t wait to try soju in that orange and yoghurt concoction! It was delicious without the soju and I know it will be even better with some added alcohol! Again, they now have have two highchairs and Sang’s there to greet your baby with a smile!

The hubs sampled quite a few hard to find brews and was pleased as punch on having found Trappistes Rochefort! No high chairs or anything but the benches at the back work great and I’d highly recommend an umbrella stroller here as space is tight. You may want to stay away from the stairs if your toddler is into ”tairs” like ours is! A never ending beer list with hard to find brews will keep you very happy here!

IMG_20130608_213901IMG_20130608_223042Czehoski : This was a spot we frequented pre baby and never thought we’d take the Little Monkey here but some friends chose this spot to link up at and we decided to swing  by and say hi. We were surprised to receive a warm welcome by our server and the upstairs area with a bench against the back wall was just perfect for us! The server even made a special mocktail for me! Having enjoyed one too many cocktails here, I can vouch for the fact that you can get an enjoyable buzz on here. Best news is that  you can bring along a baby even if it’s 9 p.m on a Saturday!

IMG_20111121_204733Queen and Beaver : Looking for a cozy Brit style pub? Look no further than the Queen and Beaver for a spot to catch a pint or perhaps a dram of Whiskey! We took the Little Monkey here when she was just a month old and no one batted an eye! It’s a cozy cozy spot filled with comfy couches that you can easily pass many a winter hour away at. By the way… you must try their homemade ketchup!

As I said there’s many more spots I’ll be adding to this list, especially as I rejoin the drinking circuit post pregnancy and breastfeeding…. !

Thanks for stopping by! I’ll have loads on Ireland over the next couple weeks. Still soaking it all in and just writing down my notes! So much to do there
