Eat to the Beat Toronto #ETTB2014 Giveaway

eat to the beat toronto giveaway Eat to the Beat is one of my absolute FAVEST culinary events in the city of Toronto and I’m so pumped to celebrate the 19th Annual Eat to the Beat and offer two readers the chance to join us on October 21st. Yes! We have TWO pairs of tickets to giveaway for this 19+ event! This culinary fundraiser garners the support of sixty female chefs who puts on a spread like none I’ve seen before. Eat to the Beat benefits Willow Breast & Hereditary Cancer Support, a not-for-profit organization that offers free peer support to anyone coping with breast cancer and so, you’ll be pilling on the pounds for a good cause 😉

The hubs and I attended the 17th annual Eat to the Beat two years ago and we’ve been telling every single person we meet on how they should get their empty tummies to this event. Click here to read my 2012 review on Masalamommas. The hubs and I had to be rolled out of there, no lie! There’s no shortage of gourmet food or drink here so definitely come hungry. Hosted at the Roy Thompson Hall, this is a swanky event where the lines are short and there’s manners around (no pushing or shoving compared to many food events in Toronto). Dress up for a date night and nosh your way to foodie heaven as you support Willow Breast & Hereditary Cancer Support. Early Bird Tickets are $150 each until September 13 and Regular Tickets are $175 after September 13. You do receive a tax receipt and tickets include all food and beverages. Yes it may be pricey but remember that you are helping bring some sunshine to those diagnosed with breast cancer. I was surprised to learn that in 2014 an estimated 24,400 women and 200 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in Canada alone.

cancer survivor corsetWhat I love most about this fundraiser is that everyone is in great spirits, including the women who volunteer. We had the chance to chat up quite a few ladies who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and they were filled with cheeky smiles and gratitude for the chance to have a strong support network. Keep an eye out for the sassy breast cancer survivors who will be modeling original food-inspired corsets that they have created. Don’t worry, they’re way more creative than the basic cupcake corsets 😉

Eat To The Beat is also the ONLY event in Canada that exclusively features the talent of 60 female chefs. The incredible chef line-up includes:  Sandra Abballe (Succulent Chocolates), Wanda Beaver (Wanda’s Pie in the Sky), Paula Bashford (Beretta Farms Inc.), Kyla Eaglesham (Madeleines Cherry Pie and Ice Cream), Alexandra Feswick (Samuel J. Moore), Bonnie Gordon (Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts), Kimberly Humby (Pomodoro Trattoria), Anna Janes (Cocomira Confections), Andrea Poirier (Inn on the Twenty), Jacqueline Lo (Ruelo Patisserie), Kimberley Lugsdin (Catering by Kimberley), Joshna Maharaj (Ryerson University), Erin Marcus (Ace Bakery), Catherine O’Donnell (Willow Cakes and Pastries), Angela Panigas (The Sultan’s Tent & Café Moroc), Jennifer Perusini (BerBer Lounge), Karen Rachlin (Bite Catering), Emily Richards (Professional Home Economist), Trista Sheen (Crush Wine Bar),Lili Sullivan (East & Main Bistro), Karen Viva-Haynes (Viva Tastings), Vanessa Yeung (Aphrodite Cooks) and many more.
