Fashion Friday | Bedtime Drama

Netflix_BedtimeStaller_Infographic_IntIt still shocks me that Little Monkey is up by 7:15 a.m. and still fights with us at bedtime. She doesn’t take any naps and will stay up until 10 or 11 p.m. easily. Can you tell me what she’s running on? Netflix polled parents on the night time battles and here’s the infographic.. we’re TOTALLY a mix between Garby and Mr. Peabody. The girl who never eats during the day somehow is starving once she brushes her teeth – go figure! It turns out that 79% of parents worldwide are willing to make compromises with their kids at bedtime, spending an average of 20 minutes per night negotiating with them to go to bed! GULP! Guilty as charged. The poll also found that Canadian parents stand strong at bedtime, as they are significantly more likely to disagree that their child’s stall tactics can be too cute or so clever that they give in and let them stay up past their bedtime (61% disagree vs. 51 globally). I’m definitely not Canadian when it comes to that stat… I just give up!

Disclosure : I am part of Netflix Canada’s Stream Team and get perks as part of my association, but as always, opinions are always totally mine!

Netflix and DreamWorks Animation recently launched the new Dinotrux 5 Minute ‘Favorites’ to help parents with the “5 more minutes” battles and we’ve been putting it to the test. Come 8:45 p.m. we brush their teeth and TRY to tuck them in only to hear “I’m not ready yet” and then we offer 5 minutes of TV in exchange for them going to be RIGHT after. It works most days…and then there are the other days when we’re up until 11 p.m. SIGH!

Happy Friday! Don’t forget… it’s Ice Wine & Dine tomorrow!

Yes, both of my boys are bedtime stallers! They make up every excuse to stall going to bed.

My eldest does not stall and never has. My younger two are great at guilting me with the “but just one more hug because I love you so much….” line. I do not mind it once but that is it….usually.
