First pregnancy vs. Second pregnancy

Picture1Having been through two pregnancies in the last 3 three years, there’s plenty to laugh at when it comes to the differences between my first pregnancy vs. second pregnancy! Sure there’s the physical and the medical changes where you feel things quicker but there’s plenty that’s rooted in laziness. So here’s a light hearted post about the things I’ve noticed… I hope you’ll share some of your funny observations as well!

First Pregnancy vs. Second Pregnancy

akira vs baby 2

I  had an app that I checked daily to find out the development and knew the fruit and veggie by week

I have to ask the hubs how far along I am. It’s a miracle I even know I’m pregnant

Was able to conceal the belly till about 12 weeks

Looked pregnant even before I was pregnant

Bouncing and smiling whilst walking around town. Not a care in the world

1st week and it already feels like the kid is about to cannonball his way out. Week 30 and you’re sure there’s second coming of the Great Mississippi Flood

Super active, working all day and hitting the gym or bootcamp.. and then walking back home

First sign of pregnancy tossed the gym shoes for a comfy couch pillow. Brought a bag of buttered popcorn along

Aware of all symptoms, requesting ultra sounds for the smallest hiccup

Don’t even notice anything because you’re too distracted by the whining toddler giving you bruises and pulling your leg

Strutted the heels and wore formal work attire that looked right out of the magazines

Living in flipflops, stained tank tops and bummy pants like a bag lady. Crumbs on the belly are the latest accessory

Aware that I shouldn’t be lifting heavy stuff but still able to carry cartons due to weight training

Refuse to even carry a box of tissues.  Laziness at its height

You’re carrying precious cargo. NOBODY dare come near that belly

The Cargo is heavy and you’ve bumped it around so many times there’s bruises and scratches between the tiger marks

Healthy balanced diet with plenty of veggies and fruits. Snacks in between to keep the baby growing

Cupcakes, sweets and leftover scraps that you grab as you’re walking out the door to yet another playdate

Baby clothes washed, meticulously folded in a new dresser and nursery set up by the 25 week mark

Two days before the delivery you’re scrambling to find everything. Anything. Pink and red clothes out of a garbage bag it is little boy!

Hospital bag stuffed with everything under the sun is packed and ready to go by week 30. The baby’s going to be early!

What hospital bag? Grab a plastic bag and shove a tooth brush and change of clothes two weeks prior to delivery. This baby is not coming early we all know that!

Knew the two names you were going to choose between months before the due date. Shared them with friends

Two days before the scheduled delivery and still no short list of names to share with anyone

Only two more days left of this pregnancy and I’m ready for this wrestler to be out. Bring wine. And Gin. And some Scotch and Sashimi.

I feel the same way. I have an 18 month old and I’m due with number two in 29 days. I can’t breath or sleep. Hospital bag is done as a sign…If I pack it, it will come. Sigh.
