Netflix Food Inspiration

I’m still in a bit of a cooking rut and desperately in need of inspiration. I don’t know if it’s the awesome food we’ve been eating and my inability to replicate them at home (no matter how hard I try) or if it’s pure exhaustion after working a full day …but whatever it is, I need a fix! A couple friends recently asked me if I still watched cooking shows and that’s when it dawned on me. I haven’t. Could this possibly be the reason behind the boring meals I’ve been slapping together?

So I’m on a mission. I don’t have time to watch the reality shows like I used to, but I’m going to try and “watch” a few. By watch I mean, have them on in the background as I tidy up the messy house and try to defrost frozen meat, all while negotiating with Little Monkey and Baby Boy! They both enjoy “cooking” so I’ve started enlisting their help in the kitchen, which means an even bigger mess to deal with at the end of the day.

Disclosure : I am part of the the Netflix Streamteam but as always, opinions are totally mine!

I recently discovered some foodie movies on Netflix (and because we’ve splurged for the unlimited internet package I should really maximize my usage!) that I’m hoping to watch between now and the Christmas holidays…if these don’t inspire me, I don’t know what will! Perhaps I should ask for a personal chef this Christmas?

Have you any food movie suggestions for me?

I enjoy watching cooking shows, but haven’t seen any of these. I do watch The Great British Bake off sometimes and it inspires me to make things.

Taking a walk in Kensington market or St. Lawrence market might inspire me as well as looking at various cookbooks. I think watching the Food channel could also help when you’re in a rut about food.

Oh it totally is!! Just watch out for your internet bill though. We had to up our package because we kept watching Netflix a bit too much.
