Time to Trash those Paper Bills | Giveaway

We may be travelling but we’re still very connected to Toronto. To those who told us that they wouldn’t be surprised if we decided to travel full time after spending 5 months overseas, I’m here to tell you that we definitely miss Toronto, a lot, especially our comfy home. Travelling is great but while staying in other people’s homes, I’m starting to miss everyday luxurious I had taken for granted. Without our dishwasher, my hands are so prune-ey, and no matter what I do, the kids’ bottles just don’t seem clean. We dearly miss our unlimited internet with Netflix (slow wifi will be the end of me!), and life without our washing machine and dryer is just plain cruel (I kid you not, I washed a bunch of clothes by hand yesterday – something I’ve never done before).

Disclosure : This post is in partnership with Toronto Hydro but, as always, opinions are TOTALLY ours!

After almost 5 weeks on the road, we have yet to find a house that has all the appliances I need for a comfortable stay. The search is still on though! Because we’re staying in Guest to Guest homes, we aren’t responsible for paying the utilities, so that’s one perk! That said, we’re still managing our expenses and ensuring that our bills back home are paid on time. The hubs is in charge of all of those details, and we’re super thankful to be able to receive online bills and to schedule auto payments through our banks. eBills are definitely the way to go and we’re starting to notice that more and more companies are offering this service. I like getting happy snail mail, like postcards from friends and care packages from grandma but definitely don’t enjoy opening bills.

We recently heard that Toronto Hydro is encouraging their customers to sign up for eBills instead of paper bills. All customers who register for eBills between May 4th and 31st will receive a free package of Cascade Platinum or Dawn Ultra, 100 bonus points on Toronto Hydro’s new PowerLens portal, plus the chance to win an ENERGY STAR dishwasher.

Given how much I’m missing our home appliances, that offer caught my eye. Living in a condo, most of our utilities are included in our condo fees but there have been rumours that this will soon change and so we do need to be more diligent in how we monitor our usage, especially when it comes to electricity.

If you haven’t signed up for the Toronto Hydro eBills….now’s a great time! Winning a new dishwasher is definitely a great incentive! Be sure to sign up here before the 30th of May!
