Diapers aren’t just for baby butts!

So you know how not getting a monthly visit from Aunt flo is supposed to be an added benefit during and after pregnancy…especially whilst breastfeeding? I thought I was in the safe zone and did not pack any necessities during our month long travels. Our last night in Paris the crimson tide made a gushing appearance. UH! OH!  We were running around and trying to pack for our return home and I did what anyone would… I used one of the Little Monkey’s diapers till I got myself to a pharmacy. Well.. let me tell you..it took me twenty four hours to get to a Boots store at the London Airport. It was pretty genius thinking I’d like to think. Quite hilarious too. Go on… laugh.

Now that we know that diapers are not just for absorbing  baby poops and pees…. I  wonder what else these diapers are good for… here’s a list I’ve gathered :

  1. When you’ve run out pads/tampons
  2. Watering plants – Placing a diaper at the bottom  of a planter provides a water reserve and encourages the roots to grow down. You would fill the planter with dirt and plant as per usual. Great tip for looking after plants whilst travelling!
  3. Cold compresses – Soak a diaper with water, seal ends as  per usual and stick them in the freezer. Couple hours later.. you have a nice ice pack that won’t melt on you! Send me pictures if you decide to pursue this one!
  4. Waxing the Car – they don’t scratch the paint at all and have excellent absorption
  5. Insulation – use diapers to wrap around fragile items when packing. Who needs bubble-wrap?

Do you have any to add?

Extra padding under your sleeping bag when you go camping.
