It’s a busy weekend in Toronto with the Pan Am frenzy that’s about to descend on us. Truth be told, we did at one point contemplate escaping the city for these two weeks but life got in the way and we didn’t do anything about it. Well, last night I realized that it’s going to be a fun time and that we should embrace all the fun stuff that’s happening this weekend. We haven’t bought any tickets to the games but there’s plenty of FREE fun happening, some aren’t even Pan Am related!

- Bastille Day Celebrations : Plenty of family friendly fun at the David Pecaut Square from noon onwards. This unique all-day event will feature the best of France, with local food vendors and artisans, activities for kids and a bal populaire (evening dance). I’m eager to sample the French food and drink that will be on sale and also the many free samplings! Click here for more details!
- Beaches Jazz Festival : I’m thinking of heading to Woodbine Beach for some Jazz and of course some fun in the sun as the kids frolic in the sand. There’s way more stuff happening and you can find more deets here!
- Panamania : Nathan Philips square is going to be ALIVE over the next couple of days. Daily fireworks, musical and theatrical performances will be happening here and we plan to take the kids down a couple times a week if we can. Click here for details. And Pssst. Wyclef opens at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday!
- Graffiti Tour : This summer the Queen St. BIA has sponsored all the Saturday afternoon Graffiti tours and so the fabulous and informative Tour Guys are offering their services to the public! I’ve been yearning to go on their bacon and beer tours but a free graffiti one is a good start! Click here for tickets!
