Halloween Celebrations

Happy Halloween!! This weekend was filled with Halloween activities as we carved pumpkins, came up with numerous costumes and noshed on ghoulish dishes. Living in a condo, we don’t really get trick or treaters and so a few of us parents got together on Friday for a quick party and then we went trick or treating ( with the kids!!) to each other’s houses. I’m really enjoying this tradition as it’s a nice way for us to celebrate the occasion with minimal effort!

Of course at the very last minute Little Monkey decided that the Unicorn head I found at Marshals was too big for her (well…maybe because I bought her an adult sized one!!) and that she had to throw a hissy fit. Luckily, the hubs and I thought on our feet and came up with an alternative horn. We did pretty nicely given our five minute dash to make it happen, don’t you think?

Saturday we had friends over and the kids were awake at midnight but we all had a fab time. I thought I was being so smart when I used red icing dye for my costume’s blood….I woke up on Sunday looking like Elmo despite taking a shower before I went to bed. Oppps! Didn’t think about the consequences. Luckily for me Google game to our rescue and I lathered myself in Arm & Hammer toothpaste and with a combo of Baking Soda and white vinegar and so this Monday I get to go to work looking relatively “normal”.  PHEW! That would have been quite the awkward work conversation!
