Scary Halloween Food Idea: Bloody Hand You Can Eat

My favourite  season is here and I have shared many easy Halloween recipes with you over the years so I’m back with yet another! My Halloween food table is never complete without an edible hand and I’ve tried many different versions. I’m going to share two different edible hands for your Halloween party and you can tell me which one you prefer!  You don’t need any molds so trust me when I say, this Halloween recipe is super easy and works well for a Halloween party appetizer or you can make it for Halloween dinner because the kids are going to love it!

Bloody Hand Halloween Recipe (Creepy Party Centerpiece)

Burnt hand food recipe

For the most gruesome looking bloody hand recipe you simply need BBQ sauce and ground meat. What type of meat you use is up to you – I prefer lean ground beef but ground turkey, ground chicken and even ground soy meat would just as well. Which means you can make this a vegan Halloween recipe if you wish because I don’t use eggs either! Simply gather your ground beef in a bowl and add some spices ( I like garlic powder, coriander, salt and pepper to keep this edible hand recipe kid friendly) and then you shape it like a hand and bake.  Half way through  baking while the meat is still malleable, pop some almond nails on, slather the sauce and finish baking your bloody hand. At the end you slather more BBQ sauce and VOILA! You have yourself a delicious bloody hand that would complete your Halloween party menu with something hearty. I just leave it for guests to cut as they want but you could serve it with some mashed potatoes if you’re doing a sit down Halloween dinner.

Pro tip : Don’t keep it  in oven too long unless you want it looking like a burnt hand  – that’s also a gruesome food idea so you can go with it! If you find it hand to shape your hand you can trace an outline of your own hand on parchment paper and use that as a guideline!

How to Make a Bloody Edible Hand for Halloween

Pork loin and cheese hands with edible skin

For a different spin on your edible hand try this pork recipe with “edible skin”. Once again, I promise you, it’s an easy one. All you need is a pork loin, some soft cheese, cheese string and prosciutto. For the soft cheese I like to use some Boursin because you can buy the herbed one for extra flavour. You can serve this with some crackers and place a knife so people can cut chunks of the arm!
