Our Latest Binge Worthy Series

As the first month of 2015 winds down I was reflecting on how January flew by only to realize that we had spent most of this month getting into a rhythm. I’m back at work, the kids are getting comfortable with the nanny and we stayed closed to home without travelling this month. January was about finding a balance between work and our various schedules. Waking up early for my yoga class means that I’m quite tired by the time I get back from work and so once the kids are in bed by 10 p.m., I spend two hours relaxing in front of the telly with the hubs and a fine drink. There’s so many  good shows that we’ve discovered and most of them are on Netflix which makes our lives easy. If you’re looking for some good shows check out the following!

Disclosure: I am part of Netflix Canada’s Stream Team and get perks as part of my association, but as always, opinions are always totally mine!

Canadian Whisky Lot 40BroadChurch – I cannot believe how fast we went through the 8 episodes. This absolutely riveting BBC show centers on the investigation into the murder of a young boy in a British seaside town. If you love British dramas and detective shows this one is for you! Season one is on Netflix and BBC just launched Season 2 so I hope it comes to Netflix soon!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine – Some nights you just need some laughter and this comedic police show is definitely the one to watch at the end of a super exhausting day. Andy Samberg definitely has me eager to watch Season 2 (not yet on Netflix) and 3 (yet to be filmed).

Downtown Abbey – Season 5 just launched and it’s still good as ever. The first three seasons are on Netflix and I’m tempted to re-watch some of the old ones because the characters are just so good. Some of my faves are not in the new seasons but they’ve brought a couple really awesome ones.

Boss – If dark drama is more your style check out this show featuring Kelsey Grammer as a Chicago Mayor diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disorder. The hubs was really into this one and while it took me a while to come around, I’m really like the script now.

Netflix Puss in BootsLittle Monkey was introduced to Puss in Boots this month and she seems to like it. I was getting fed up of all the Max and Ruby and Toopy & Binoo she was watching and wanted to introduce something that has a better plot, complex characters and some new words to expand her vocabulary. Puss in Boots definitely has a more complicated story line but she was able to follow along easily which I was pleased about. She and Baby Boy recently opened their Barbie Dreamhouse and I think she found the Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse series on Netflix last night, so it’s only a matter of time before she asks to watch that.

Marco Polo and The Good Wife are on our to watch lists and I can’t wait for Season 3 of Hannibal! What are you watching these days?
