One month and 4 inches into finding my Curves

The one month mark of the start of my curves search has come by rather quickly and quite surprisingly… I’ve had a great time and even opted for a year long membership. Yes! ME! I’ve never belonged to a gym but this one seems like one I’d like to hang around at. Best of all, if I ever move and when I travel… I can easily use other facilities! Another thing you might not know about me is that I like a good deal and ensure I make the most of any monetary commitments. Which means that I will try my best to get a workout atleast four times a week or I feel rather crap about ‘wasting’ money.

So wondering how I’ve progressed huh? Take a look  …

For the most part I’ve lost a relatively good amount.. I’d like to think. Especially since I have made  no modifications to my diet. My clothes feel looser in the arms so my guess is that we measured two  different spots on the arm each time. As for the body fat being higher.. that I have no explanation for! One thing for sure, I wasn’t expecting much , maybe a cm here or there, but to see inches coming off is  quite motivating. Curves measure the total inches lost and that’s where I sit at a total loss of 4 inches in the span of a month (For those smarty pants who calculated that I lost 5 inches just remember than they subtracted an inch on the arms that I apparently gained!).

Sneaking out in the morning for a quick 30 minute workout, while the Little Monkey naps (or yaps) along side a sleeping hubs is the perfect break and ensures that I am up bright and early not lazy in bed even at noon. Wednesdays is bootcamp day and I’m hurting all day so I take Thursday off to laze around…gotta enjoy the mat leave perks right? Having those 30 minutes to listen to some good  tunes (would you believe they had I’m blue by Eiffel65 just yesterday!) and get a bit of down time away from the household duties is absolute bliss.

There are days when I feel lazy but under the watchful eye of the trainer on duty I get a quick ‘come on! harder! faster’ and that means that I have to step up my game constantly. Let’s not forget the lovely older ladies who put me to shame! When I started my active pulse was equivalent to a resting 80 year old. I KNOW- SAD.  Not to worry I managed to work my way up to a relatively active 60 year old at the end of the first month. I love the fact that each and every day I still feel the burn, long into the wee hours of the night. It’s a good burn though, unlike the ones caused by a 6 month old’s piercing cries!

While this experience has not been sponsored, I have managed to secure a FREE TRIAL! For those readers living or working in downtown Toronto I’ve got a great excuse for you to break a sweat! The downtown Toronto Curves will provide you with a free week of Curves Complete. This package not only includes access to the circuit, but also includes online coaching, a tailored diet plan (that makes room for the Mutton Curry!) and motivational sessions with a coach. I know I’m excited to give this program a try! All you have to do is mention BabyandLife when you visit the Queens Park Curves (location on Bay St) this April or May.
