AH Santa! That beloved pictures of kids with Santa has got to be the strangest phenomena because a toddler meeting Santa is nothing but shenanigans! At least for us. Last year the Little Monkey was over a year and quite friendly with strangers so we jumped on the opportunity to meet the Eaton Centre Santa but clearly as you can see from the picture below.. neither Santa nor she wanted much to do with each other! The Santa was really nice and suggested that I take the picture with her. Fair enough.
This year we decided to try a couple things to battle this unexplainable fear of the jolly fellow. We watched some cartoons that had Santa in them and we also planned a couple meetings to see if repeat visits would breed familiarity. First go was with the Eaton Centre Santa and Baby Boy was content starring up at Santa’s white floss but the Little Monkey didn’t even want to go near him. BOO!!
We then swung by the Christmas Market and the Little Monkey kept saying how she was going to sit on Santa’s lap and ask for a My Little Pony… looked like we had succeeded in our mission to capture that precious photo … hah! She balled the moment we got stage. This Santa was quite chivalrous and offered his seat to me and suggested that we all sit for a picture without him and he then crept into the picture! Smart fella!
So no solo Santa photo this year either… my guess is that she’ll be five or six before we get a good one! How about you? Did you get that Santa photo?… I mean with your kids…. HO!HO!HO!
