guzzie + Guss Hornby Double Stroller

guzzie and guss hornby doubleWe came to own our guzzie + Guss G + G 125 Hornby Double Stroller completely by accident. It’s true! We walked into our local baby store to purchase a stroller I had seen prominently during our travels and we then got distracted by this new (to us) brand of strollers on display. Not only did we find the guzzie + Guss G + G 125 to have a few more features that we liked, but it was also cheaper. As you can tell we walked away with something we knew nothing of when we walked into the store.

guzzie + Guss is a Canadian company and let me tell you right off the bat that I have NEVER had speedier customer service from a brand! We had a bit of an issue where a week in the lever to tilt one of the seats broke on us. You can still tilt it by flicking the wires but obviously not ideal. I emailed the service centre and they promptly took action giving me the option to take it to the service centre in Toronto or having them mail me a new one (and return the old one) as I had just purchased the stroller. I had bought this mainly for our summer travels so I was glad that  we got the replacement between our Chicago and Nova Scotia trips. Just for this reason I am totally sold on the guzzie + Guss brand!

guzzi and guss double strollerI absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this stroller but the hubs is not fully convinced. He wants another double for our winter in the city. I love the fact that this is compact, fits in a standard door and that I can easily fold the stroller for our travels (even whilst baby wearing!). Add the fact that both Baby Boy and Little Monkey can each have their own recline positions and that they both sleep in the stroller… complete win for me!

With an infant and a toddler it can be challenging to find a good balance when it comes to strollers and this one works for us because the Little Monkey is on the slimmer side of things. She’s average for height but low on weight so she fits in quite comfortably in the stroller and I don’t find much of an imbalance when it comes to pushing the stroller when they’re both in. The only issue I have is that I need to put some extra effort to push the levers down to unfold the stroller…. I just need to go to the gym and work on my legs! The other big difference to the sturdy UPPA single we have is that the basket space is very small and if the kids are reclined you pretty much have no access to it. Which is why I end up hanging my purse and all sorts of things on the handles and then I get stuck trying to exit through standard size doors. Opps! My bad.

The guzzie + Guss G + G 125 is definitely one for the travelling family. It fits easily in a standard taxi (the wheels click out and back on easily if you need extra space) and we had no issues gate checking it at the airport. It’s light and even with two kids in you can easily lift up and down busy city curbs. We’ve taken it on the TTC ( subway in Toronto) and had no issues with it. It’s the same width as our Uppa Baby just a smidge wider. I found the guzzie + Guss  to be smooth sailing but the hubs feels like we need a smoother ride. Time will tell what our travel stroller will end up being!
