The past few weeks have been insanely busy on our end and my schedule in particular, has left no time for some R&R. Many week days saw me shutting down my laptop close to midnight, absolutely exhausted but still wired. I have come to realize that I desperately need to unwind before my head hits the pillow and if I don’t, an hour of tossing and turning awaits me.
So, despite working all day, attending events in the evening and then running around with Little Monkey and Baby Boy I find myself wrapped up in a blanket strolling through Netflix on a nightly basis. During these moments I’m not looking for drama like Broadchurch or American Horror Story (which are both totally fab!!), instead I want something light, fun and entertaining. Something that doesn’t require me to think too much! Something totally girly. Often times the hubs isn’t into these kind of shows, so it’s just me!
I’m totally hooked to the new Netflix original that came out earlier this month, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It’s about a woman (Ellie Kemper) who has spent 15 years living underground in a bunker and is now rebuilding her life in New York. Her naivety, pure innocence and exuberance at the simple things totally remind me of how Little Monkey and Baby Boy are discovering the world around them. This one is so good that even the hubs is into it.
