Reminiscing and Fisher-Price Stroll-Along Walker

This post is part of the YummyMummyClub.ca and Fisher-Price® sponsored program. I received compensation as a thank you for my participation. This post reflects my personal opinion about the information provided by the sponsors.

london2I grew up on Fisher-Price toys because my mom believes the brand to be synonymous with good quality entertainment and 33 years later it looks like my living room is a Fisher-Price catalogue. Not because I have my old toys, but because everyone seems to give us a lot of toys! Last year for the Little Monkey’s birthday my parents and brother got her some toys (despite me saying NO MORE toys!) and what do you know… they were Fisher-Price and a year later, she still plays with them. Our family likes that there’s favourites for every stage of development so that kids can grow with the range of toys.

It’s hard not having a nostalgic connection with this brand because no matter where in the world you grew up, there’s a very strong chance that you played with Fisher-Price toys. In fact check me out in London when I was three…yup even when we travelled I got quality toys! When I think of toys I grew up with I remember the characters but also the brand name, especially my old school Fisher-Price kitchen set! Now with a newborn and a toddler I know that we’re going to have even more toys around but I am definitely thankful that they are high quality, functional, educational and more over treasured by the Little Monkey and Baby boy.

fisher price stroll along walkerI recently received the Stroll-Along Walker, a Fisher-Price Favourites Toy, and this would have been ideal a year ago when the Little Monkey was learning to walk as it is the perfect way to steady baby’s 1st steps. The Little Monkey held on to her play pen to steady herself as she took her first steps at the 11 month mark but if we had this walker back then I’m sure she would have been able to whiz by a lot faster that she did. Baby Boy will be sure to get working on the Stroll-Along Walker soon no doubt! However guess who has been running around with this stroller? The Little Monkey! She wants to take it everywhere and while her favourite dolls usually sit in it, she can occasionally be seen trying to climb into it herself (meanwhile, she is not a fan of her REAL stroller!).

I had the Stroll-Along Walker at the Little Monkey’s 2nd birthday party and kids of all ages from 9 months to four years were seen playing with it. There was a 1 year old who was just starting to take her first steps and the wide wheel base and sturdy handles made it a steady journey as she pushed the Stroll-Along Walker back and forth in the basement. It was definitely a popular toy that afternoon! I think it really helps that there’s a musical wiggly bear with three musical tunes that little ones can interact with (some even did a dance for us!) and that the wheels are sturdy and steady compared to some of the other toy strollers. The flip book, teddy bear spinners and roller bar all offer additional entertainment to keep little ones busy.

Now if only the Little Monkey would take her Stroll-Along Walker and go do some groceries for me! Oh speaking of shopping check out the Favourites checklist there’s a $5 off coupon too!

You can sterilize those toys and they do not change colour or the shape! I have boiled them over and over again!
