Sainthood – diet and exerise

I’d like to saint myself. Yup. Saint. You read it right! Since returning back to work I must admit that I’m a lot more disciplined when it comes to eating right (thanks to my gluten free experiment) and my 7 a.m. work out sessions. I haven’t snoozed in once in the past two and a half weeks. SAINT I tell ya!

But what really gives me this title is the fact that I’ve been waking up at the butt crack of dawn when it’s dark, gloomy and cold outside despite the fact that I’m not seeing any results. Just look at these numbers below.. seriously?

All that running and Curves work outs and nothing to show? NADA! ZILCH! ?! It’s tempting to just sit back and give up on this whole exercise thing because clearly I weighed and measured less at the start of this whole thing than I do now. Something’s up surely!

The past ten days of being gluten free has indeed made me feel healthier and more conscious of what I eat. It’s been a great excuse to say no to the cupcakes floating around the office and the extra fatty pizza (heck I even got them to order a gluten free one, much to the dismay of a couple co-workers. GET OVER IT guys!). Everyone else who goes on a gluten free diet loses weight and while this wasn’t my main goal for switching to this diet, it was definitely a lucrative side effect. Though I suppose it doesn’t help that I’ve stocked up with gluten free bread and pasta huh?  So while it’s very disappointing not seeing a budge on the scale or an inch melting off the arms (and arse!) I’m still sticking to this whole healthy routine because it makes me feel good and there’s hope that I will be able to get into this gorgeous blue JACOB dress I’ve tucked away since the summer for the work holiday party. Fingers crossed.

I’d love to challenge you with is to start your day with a shake. I love this ritual now that I’ve started it. Firstly it’s a damn quick breakfast and you only need one hand to drink it… which means you can surf online, catch up on the latest social happenings and still make it to work on time! I’ve been trying various shakes and so far my favest one is milk based with peanut butter, flax seed powder, mango and oats blended together. The flax and oats (quick cooking oats, but not the instant kind!) definitely adds a healthy spin. I tried Kale one day and it was gross.. I’m gonna stick to my kale chips instead.

So this saint feels healthy but is still shoddily dressed with dumps like a truck… I’ll be trucking along till the next weigh in.

Thank you for this recipe! Sounds yummy! I’m doing shakes every morning now – hit a similar lull with weight loss/energy levels so changing it up a bit. I have a recipe for protein pancakes that I’ve been meaning to share so will get on that soon 🙂

I agree on the Sainthood. You might not see the results you want but you must be feeling so healthy. I know I should, but I just can’t get to motivation. My hats off to you!
