Battling with stains one toddler at a time

Okay I’d like to say that I was all neat and tidy before the Little Monkey’s arrival but sadly given that I love wearing white, bright colours and eating oily deliciousness… that ain’t true! Many of my favourite items are grease stained from pre-baby shenanigans. Add a baby to the mix and well.. let’s just say eating a greasy bison burger while carrying a fry shoving toddler and trying to Instagram at the same time can only lead to even more stains!

resolve oxi-action, stain removing

In our household the hubs takes care of the laundry… apparently I just don’t do it right. FINE by me! One less thing to worry about right? Well the challenge here is that he’s not very good at removing those grease stains from my whites and my chiffon dresses. If I had a pistachio for each time I’ve pulled out an item only to find the stains still there! SIGH! He clearly isn’t very good at battling the stains.

When Resolve sent us some samples of the Oxi-Action we gave it a try. We’re bad at pre treating our stains. Lazy you see…but we enjoy getting dirty. Clearly. Stains from our recent Ireland adventures were caked on from June and just adding a scoop of the Resolve Oxi-Action Crystal White In-Wash Stain Removal Powder to the laundry took out those pesky butt stains. You know.. when you wear flip flops and it’s rainy? Ever have a trail of muddy sprinkles running up your legs right up to your butt? Yea . Happens to me all the time. But .. HOOOOZAH! They’re gone! Bring on the rain, the white pants and the flip flops!

rushoesMy bro had the best tip of all after his recent Colour Me Rad Dash. What’s a colour run? It’s when kids go out decked in white and people throw coloured corn starch and water on them. It’s fun apparently. Except for the actually running part. Well his clothes were a mess at the end of the day. However he ran around trying to get his hands on Resolve Oxi-Action to soak his clothes and his shoes! Yes shoes too – just take a toothbrush with Oxi-Action and water to them. He then tossed them all in the washing machine and dryer.. and voila! Back to normal. If your shoes have laces, he recommends finding a spot in your dryer to tie them to…that way the banging won’t drive you insane!

As for my chiffon dresses, pre treating with baby powder the day I get the stain and then using Oxi-Action seems to work best. Days old grease stains on chiffon or silk are still there sadly. Haha we did the Color Me Rad dash as well, and our clothes and shoes didn’t fare much better. Wish I had known about the tying the shoes to something in the dryer tip at that time!
