Is IT a Boy or Girl?

IMG_2512

First time around I didn’t want to find out the gender. The element of surprise was fun and I figured I’d be able to wait it out. However as the months went on and the pile of marshmallow green, brown and yellow clothing grew (all gifts), I soon got tired of those colours. Brown and ashy green are amongst my least liked colours as it were. So we finally found out that we were having a girl closer to the 7 month mark. The hubs was quite pleased that he’d guessed right all along.

With #2 on its way (here’s the announcement post) we knew from the very beginning that we’d like to find out sooner rather than later. Did I need to start hoarding the cute little outfits the Little Monkey was decked out in or was it time to give them away to another to be well dressed baby? Not that I’m a stickler when it comes to colours, I’m just as fine with a girl wearing blue as I am with a boy in purple. It’s all about the colours here. But there was something to be said about being a bit lazy when it came to the name game. Less work  this way!

Well today was the day when we could perhaps… maybe… hopefully… find out if the Little Monkey was going to have a brother or sister come October. Their birthdays will be 10 days apart (- or + a few?)  so I’m already planning combined birthday parties till they’re well into their teens! Let’s just say that when the technician asked if our guts were saying boy or girl, neither the hubs nor I had any inkling this time around. The Little Monkey though…she seemed to know what’s heading her way. Watch the video if you’re curious to find out what IT‘s going to be!

I remember before I got pregnant I always thought I wanted a surprise and didn’t want to find out the sex. My husband said to me “can you honestly tell me that you are going to be able to wait to SHOP for your son or daughter until after he or she is born?” That was all I needed to hear. I knew there was no chance I could wait. I found out both times I was expecting that we were having boys!
