Personalized Kids Books : Lost My Name

personalized kids books, lost my nameIf you’re looking for a company to make personalized kids books we’ve found the perfect website! Lost My Name is the brain child of three dads and an uncle and is the perfect unique gift for the little one in your life. I discovered these guys when a friend of mine in the U.K shared a link to their site about a year ago. Fastforward a year and an appearance on Dragons Den and Lost My Name is the talk of the town. The books: “The Little Girl Who Lost Her Name” and “The Little Boy Who Lost His Name,” tell the story of a child who sets off on a spectacular adventure to track down all the missing letters of their name.

I knew I wanted to get this book for Little Monkey and her cousin as part of their Christmas gifts and had even told my sister in law about it back in August of last year. I’m glad I did because I know another aunt who wanted to get my nephew the same gift! I had dibs of course! 🙂  Whether the child has a popular name like Harrison or a slightly unique name like Akira, they can still have books at home ABOUT them.

So why is Lost My Name so awesome? Mainly because it’s a personalized story where the story is actually ABOUT your child. This isn’t just a story about a girl named Akira…no they go hunting to find Little Monkey’s name and meet all sorts of fun characters along the way. It’s quite magical indeed!

bookThere are some fun characters you meet along the way, such as the a glamorous Ostrich, a tremendous Aardavark, a forgetful Robot and even a cute little Imp. Little Monkey got some new words (and characters) introduced to her vocabulary through the book, which is great. She doesn’t get to see her name written out often so this is definitely going to be a treasured book for years to come. I’m very glad that it’s printed on good stock because it’s quite sturdy for a paper back. Each  book is printed on thick, environmentally-friendly paper and bound by hand I’ve been told. Obviously we ordered the book in English but it is available in a couple other languages like French, German and Spanish.

The Little Girl Who Lost Her Name, Akira bookThe book targets the 2 to 6 age group but I think it would be a great baby shower gift for those parents that have revealed the future kid’s name or perhaps a gift certificate for when they choose the name? The books costs $35 and comes with free shipping (takes under 2 weeks to get to Canada) and the complimentary option to have the front cover personalized with the gift giver’s name. Another great feature! I also really like the fact that you can read the story online..go on try it out. Type in the name you’d like and you can read the entire story in digital format BEFORE you buy it. These guys have thought about it all!

If you’re looking for personalized kids books, check out Lost My Name. You know I love personalized gifts…tell me what’s the best personalized gift you ever received?

This book is such a great idea! It sounds like a fun book for children to read and learn how to spell their name. I want one for my niece!

That’s true… I didn’t even think about them learning to spell their name!
