Who can I blame?

I’ve been wondering about that. But I guess in the end there’s no one to blame but my gluttony. Some of you might have noticed that my monthly fitness update was missing for August (what? You didn’t.sheesh. Fine then!) and the reason was that we were in full travel mode for all of August and I barely got to Curves. I even told myself.. hotel gym. Run around the block. Swim. Anything! Ofcoure that didn’t happen… snooooooooze. On my return at the end of the month, I said.. hey it’s my birthday. I’m gonna keep the guilt free eating and then get back on track in September.

I didn’t even weigh myself in August but my pants were telling me that it was a bad situation. On our return I hit Curves thrice a week and decided to start running twice a week as well. I’m talking twenty minutes MAX on the threadmill, nothing too crazy. I was sure that by the time my September weigh in approached two weeks later I would be smaller. HAH! Jokes on me. With friends visiting, we decided to eat out nearly everyday. And let me tell you.. it takes a certain kind of friendship to live in a tiny 1000 sq ft apartment with six adults and two babies. Yup my mom was in the mix too! We survived and had many a laugh despite the chaos that existed. However this chaos also meant that we were constantly looking for the easy way out, many indulgences and treats were consumed. All you can eat Korean BBQ to giant portions of Salad King and many a fried dish. Aie! Karambah!

Well I guess it’s time to spill the beans.. the beans I consumed I might add!

I now weigh 5.6 pounds more than I did when I first started my journey. What’s really alarming is the fact that my BMI is also up. A true wakeup call if there ever was. Starting today I’m going to start eating 6 small nutritional meals and… wait for it.. cut sugar out five out of seven days each week. It’s going to be hella hard but I need to do this because I’m sick and tired of wearing the same clothes over and over again! I love fall fashion and what better incentive than being able to fit into my boots (yes my calves have grown to be a ginormous size as well!) and cozy sweaters? I’m also sick of whining to you about my weight. So I”m going to do us all a favour. YAY ME! I also will pat myself on the back for losing weight around the boobs and abdomen area. Too bad they moved to my arms and thighs. Win some. Lose some.

I can’t blame the baby fat on this any longer. I can however blame my need to eat HUGE HUGE meals and my desire for cakes and chocolates. Fall usually means warm pies but this year.. it won’t. Instead I’ll have to enjoy some fruits or something equally boring healthy.

I’ve made many a promise in the past but this time I have to make it happen. Especially since I want to fit into my Mehndi outfit for the Little Monkey’s 1st birthday next month! I know.. a year has gone by! eeeks!

Anyone want to challenge me with a bet of some sort? … Ensure I shed these blobs of fat.

Good Luck! Next time we hang out we should go to Fresh or Rawlicious. My favourite healthy vegetartian restaurants.
