March Break in Toronto with Young Kids

Toronto March Break Activities for YoungWhile most March break activities cater to older kids, there are a few fun events happening in Toronto that toddlers and pre-schoolers will enjoy. Last week we shared some March break hotel packages that young ones would enjoy and today we have a round up of fun places to visit and things to do  this March break in Toronto with young kids. Let us know if you’ve heard of other fun events happening in the downtown Toronto area.

Wizard World

From March 15 to 22 the Better Living Centre will host the indoor family fun park from 10/11 a.m. to 6 p.m each day.  We attended two years ago and 1.5 year old Little Monkey LOVED it. We plan to attend this year and take in the 25 rides (perfect for the 3 and over tots), arts and crafts, face painting and the little tots area ( bouncy castles!!). Toronto’s largest exotic petting zoo, and daily shows and performances by The Magic Family, Doo Doo the Clown and Tiger Paw Exotics will also be part of Wizard World. Tickets can be purchased online and they have a couple options ranging from $10 entrance to $27 ride bracelets ( I like the $66 family pack which gives you 2 bracelets and 2 admissions so you can easily split it between 2 adults and 2 kids.) Kids 2 and under are free.

Indigo

Everyone’s favourite bookstore and craft spot will be hosting a series of free drop in sessions ranging from Dr. Seuss story time to Lego sessions. There’s a Cinderella one on the 19th that I’m hoping to attend with Little Monkey. For timings and confirmations you’ll have to check in with your local store.

AGO

It’s all about the art of Basquiat at the AGO between the 14th and 22nd. The entire family can enjoy beat boxing, dancing and interactive storytelling. There’s plenty of activities in addition to the Family Sunday sessions that will also be taking place, which means that a  day at the AGO should definitely be your March Break list.

Disney on Ice

Frozen fans don’t forget that Disney on Ice will be in town the week of March break!

TIFF

The hub of all things movies is hosting special screenings during March break (14th to 22nd) that will please the parents as much as the kids. I wouldn’t take Baby Boy to see these Disney Classics but Little Monkey has been asking to go to the movies and I bet she’ll love watching The Mermaid or Dumbo at the Bell Lightbox.

If you’re not running off to a sunny destination or checking out one of our favourite winter road trip destinations, this list should keep you relatively busy. What are your March Break plans this year?
