Maternity Fashion with Stork & Babe

IMG_20130815_112111I was recently invited to a media preview of the upcoming Stork & Babe line from Thyme Maternity and given that my wardrobe has been pretty drab this time around I simply had to say yes! The Babymoon themed event was held at a private resident and the hosts had deep fried pickles, a soft serve ice cream bar, grilled cheese and plenty of treats to please any preggo! The foodie in me was satisfied. With the first pregnancy I was still in the corporate world and rocked regular pieces by wearing dresses for the most part but I do recall that finding pants and work attire (mainly jackets) was a bit of a challenge since I didn’t want to spend $200 on one piece that would render useless after a month or two. That was just two years ago. Thyme Maternity was where I picked up a couple of capris and no surprise, I wore them for the remaining 4 months… and then the year post pregnancy (so darn comfy!!) and …into this pregnancy as well. Says something about their quality since I am currently living in those two capris! This year being a work at home mom has meant capris and tees everyday with occasional client meetings decked out in the handful of stretchy dresses I have. Very boring I must admit.

Enter Thyme Maternity’s new Stork & Babe collection and I’m smitten!! Hello they even have pleather outfits for the mommas to be! Rockermammas here’s looking at you. Don’t worry I checked, the inside is lined with a softer stretchy fabric which means no sweaty thighs (well.. no sweaty thighs caused by leather anyways). I will admit that I was a bit surprised that the line up was mainly black with a sprinkling of grey but given that it will launch this September, I guess I shouldn’t expect bright colours for the fall season, which is right on trend. That said there were a few blue hued pieces so no complaining right! Pops of cashmere, jersey and silk were also seen laced through the new line and I for one am looking forward to trying out some of these runway inspired high fashion pieces. I’ll have about a month left of the pregnancy by the time September 15th rolls but if last time was any indication, I’ll be sporting these for another couple years…no more babies though! Just comfy high fashion.

Here’s a look at some of the upcoming pieces! I’m personally coveting that black dress with the gold embellishments! Say yes to the dress… the line is fashionable and affordable. Good thing ’cause diapers are expensive-O! ….maybe I can wear those heels some day soon. Post pregnancy. WELL post pregnancy. Let me know if any of these pieces strike your fancy!
