Tomorrow marks my last day in the corporate world (confetti cannons, sparkles and glitter fills the air) and as I embark on my new adventures I know it’s time to get my vision in place. Working from home isn’t an easy feat. Add a husband who also works from home, a toddler and a mom who will be popping by and that mix gets even harder , weirder funnier. So now’s the time to do some heavy thinking on what I hope want to achieve through the blog so that I can balance a full time work from home job whilst focusing on the blog as well.
A recent challenge by the faboosh Cocktail Deeva and her band of merry women gave me that final push on something I should have done even before I started my blog over a year ago…. Who/What is my brand ( Yes I know I’m a brander by profession, but you sometimes forget to do the dirty work for yourself!).
I want Baby&Life to be that fun, trusted source of inspiration to do things, that are slightly out the norm, with your newborn/toddler (and as the Little Monkey grows…tween, teen, blah blah…old hag) . Go travel with a 2 month old to India and see the Taj Mahal and bazaars (just don’t let the beggars carry your child). Take your toddler to a fancy restaurant and ignore the evil glares of those enjoying their Cassoulet and $2000 bottle of wine. I’d say ‘Just Do It’ but that would be illegal… so my brand, Baby&Life, is …
.. lifestyle with a baby on the hip.
It’s babylicious while enjoying all things travel and food related.
It’s managing to do MOST things post baby that you did pre-baby.
It’s living the urban chic lifestyle despite having a kid.
It’s daring, fun and in your face honest.
Thank you Dee and team for the inspiration. It was a tough challenge that took longer to formulate than it was to pen type out. Your guidance, advice and push towards the next step will be welcomed with open arms, a pot of Biriyani and tray full of martinis!
